John J. Tallmadge was Mayor of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Biography

Tallmadge was born on January 10, 1818 in Claverack, New York.[1] He moved to Milwaukee in 1855.[2] Tallmadge passed away on October 16, 1873 in Summit, Waukesha County, Wisconsin.

Career

Tallmadge was Mayor of Milwaukee from 1865 to 1866 as a member of the Democratic Party. He unsuccessfully ran for Governor of Wisconsin in 1867, losing to incumbent Lucius Fairchild.
